The Right Machine. The Right Partner. Every Time.
When your production line runs on plastic, there is no room for guesswork on equipment. Here is why processors across North America trust Virtus Equipment to keep them moving.
At Virtus Equipment, we hear the same thing from new customers over and over: they were sold a machine by someone who never really understood their material, never visited their floor, and was hard to reach the moment the purchase order was signed. We built our business to be the opposite of that experience.
Here is an honest look at what makes Virtus Equipment different, and why it matters to your operation.
We Test Before You Commit
The single most common mistake in equipment selection is buying based on a spec sheet. Throughput ratings are calculated under ideal conditions with ideal material. Your material is not ideal. It might be contaminated, it might have inconsistent density, it might behave in ways that no catalog description anticipates.
Virtus Equipment maintains a fully equipped, in-house testing facility. Customers send us a sample of their actual material, and our engineers run it through the machine configurations that make sense for their application. The test is real. The output is real. You see exactly what the finished regrind looks like, how the machine handles your feedstock, and whether the configuration is genuinely right for your production goals.
Short-run tests are available at no charge. For customers who need more data, longer runs are available as well. Either way, you walk away with tested material you can evaluate, and we provide a confidential technical report documenting the results.
We also video every test run. That footage is yours. It shows you not just what the machine did, but how the process works so your team understands what to expect when the equipment is installed on your floor.
You should never have to guess how a machine will handle your material. We test it first, document everything, and send you the results before you make a decision.

One Company for Shredders and Granulators
Most facilities need both. A shredder handles the bulk reduction first, bringing large or awkward pieces down to a manageable size. A granulator then processes that output into clean, uniform regrind that can go back into production. When you need both machines, it matters that your supplier understands how they work together.
Virtus Equipment carries a complete range of both shredder and granulator lines. On the granulator side, that includes low speed granulators for quiet beside-the-press use in injection molding cells, heavy duty central granulators for high-volume processing, pipe and profile granulators, and PVC pulverizers for fine powder applications. On the shredder side, the lineup covers multi-purpose shredders, plastic lumps and purge shredders for processing extruder purgings and cutoffs, pipe and profile shredders, and combination shredder and granulator systems that handle both stages in a single footprint. We can specify a single machine or a complete integrated system, and because we understand the full spectrum, our recommendations are driven by your actual requirements, not by what happens to be in stock.

Parts When You Need Them, Not When It Is Convenient for Us
Downtime is expensive. A granulator that sits idle because a worn screen has not arrived yet costs real money, and the longer the machine is down, the more pressure builds on the rest of the line. We take that seriously.
Virtus Equipment keeps an extensive inventory of spare parts for the machines we sell, including wear parts like knives and screens, bearings, belts, electrical components, and other consumables. When you need a part, the goal is to get it to you as quickly as possible, not to make you wait while something is sourced or manufactured on demand.
We also built Virtus Equipment Direct, our online spare parts store, specifically for this reason. You can browse the full catalog, place an order, and track your shipment without needing to wait for business hours or a callback. If you need guidance on what to order, our parts specialists are a phone call away at (239) 219-1500.
A Service Team That Knows the Equipment
Technical support is only valuable if the person on the other end actually knows the machine. Our service team is trained on the equipment we sell and available to help with commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance planning, and operational questions. We want your machine to perform the way it is supposed to for as long as possible, and that means being available when something comes up.
Our service line is (239) 235-9930, and bilingual Spanish-speaking support is available for facilities where that matters. We also believe strongly in preventive maintenance as the most effective way to avoid unplanned downtime. Our team can help you develop a maintenance schedule and make sure you have the right consumables on hand before something wears out, not after.
Knowledge That Comes from Actually Working This Industry
We work across plastics recycling, rubber, wood, and a range of other materials. Our team has seen injection molding scrap lines, central granulator systems, post-consumer bale processing, and large-volume shredding installations. That breadth of experience is genuinely useful when a customer comes to us with an application that does not fit neatly into a standard category.
If you call us with a question, you will talk to someone who can engage with the specifics of what you are trying to do, not just read back a product description. That has always been important to us, and it remains one of the things we are most consistent about.
