Pressure Relief Valve

Hydraulic pressure relief valve designed for overpressure protection in ZERMA America and Virtus Equipment shredders and granulators. When hydraulic oil pressure exceeds the valve’s preset cracking pressure, the internal spring-loaded poppet opens and routes excess oil back to the reservoir, preventing hose rupture and protecting downstream hydraulic components from damage. Compact inline manifold block construction with clearly marked V (valve/inlet) and C (cylinder/return) ports for correct installation.

Description

The Hydraulic Pressure Relief Valve is a critical safety component engineered for overpressure protection in the hydraulic systems of ZERMA America and Virtus Equipment shredders and granulators. The valve uses a spring-loaded poppet mechanism inside an aluminum manifold block. Under normal operating conditions the spring holds the poppet closed. When system pressure reaches the preset cracking pressure, the hydraulic oil overcomes the spring tension, pushing the poppet open and routing the excess oil volume back to the reservoir through the return line until pressure drops back within the acceptable operating range. The V port connects to the pressurized delivery line from the pump or control valve, and the C port connects to the working component or loops back to the reservoir. Port markings are stamped into the manifold block to prevent misinstallation, which could trap pressure and cause a hose rupture.

Technical Specifications:
SKU: 80014410
Type: Hydraulic pressure relief valve
Construction: Spring-loaded poppet in aluminum inline manifold block
Operation: Automatic, opens at preset cracking pressure
Ports: V (valve/inlet), C (cylinder/return)
Function: Routes excess hydraulic oil to reservoir when system pressure exceeds cracking pressure
Application: Hydraulic overpressure protection for shredders and granulators

Key Features:
Spring-Loaded Poppet Mechanism: Internal spring holds the valve closed under normal operating pressure and opens automatically when system pressure reaches the preset cracking pressure to relieve excess oil
Reservoir Return Protection: Routes excess hydraulic oil safely back to the reservoir through the return line when the valve opens, preventing hose rupture and protecting downstream components
Stamped Port Identification: V port (valve/inlet) and C port (cylinder/return) markings stamped into the manifold block prevent misinstallation that could trap pressure and cause a blowout
Compact Inline Manifold Block: Square aluminum manifold block construction allows direct inline installation on hydraulic delivery lines without additional fittings or brackets
Automatic Reset: Valve closes automatically once system pressure drops back within the acceptable operating range, requiring no manual intervention
Passive Safety Operation: No electrical input or external signal required for operation, functioning purely on hydraulic pressure against the internal spring tension

Applications: Overpressure protection for hydraulic circuits in ZERMA America and Virtus Equipment shredders and granulators. Installed inline on hydraulic delivery lines where excess pressure must be safely relieved back to the reservoir to prevent hose rupture and protect downstream hydraulic components including cylinders, control valves, and pumps from damage caused by pressure spikes during machine operation.
