Description
The 270 × 85 × 18 Rotor Knife is a precision-ground rotor cutting component for Virtus Equipment and ZERMA America GSE/GSC series granulators. Mounted directly on the granulator rotor, this knife rotates against the stationary stator knives to create the scissor-like shearing action that reduces plastic parts, production scrap, and recycling material to a consistent, uniform particle size. The 85 × 18 mm cross-section is the standard profile for the GSE/GSC series cutting chamber.
Rotor knives are among the highest-wear components in any granulator — regular inspection and timely replacement are essential to maintaining output quality, minimizing fines, and protecting the cutting chamber from damage caused by worn or chipped knife edges. Always replace the complete set of rotor knives simultaneously to maintain rotor balance and consistent cutting performance across the full rotor face.
All Virtus Equipment Direct knives are manufactured from premium D2 tool steel (DIN 1.2379) with specialized heat treatment to 58–62 HRC, delivering outstanding wear and abrasion resistance in continuous industrial granulation environments. Our knives are produced by a manufacturer with over 50 years of combined steel production and knife manufacturing experience, ensuring consistent metallurgical quality and reliable performance across every knife we supply.
