PVC Pulverizer Granulators for Plastics Recycling

Plastics Pulverizers Description

Virtus Equipment's PM-series disc pulverizers are available in disc diameters from 300 mm to 800 mm. These plastics pulverizers are high speed, precision grinders for processing medium-hard, impact resistant and friable materials. The material to be pulverized is introduced through the center of a vertically fixed grinding disc which is mounted concentrically with an identical high-speed rotating disc. Centrifugal force carries the material through the grinding area and the resulting powder is collected with a blower and cyclone system. Depending on the application, the machines can be equipped with one-piece grinding discs or grinding segments.

Plastics Pulverizer Applications

Pulverizing PVC pipe and profile regrind in recycling is one of the main fields of use for the Virtus PM pulverizers. Working in line with a shredder and granulator creates a balanced and efficient system to handle in-house production waste. Another use is the grinding of PE for rotomolding applications. For this purpose, the PM plastics pulverizer is used in the production process to create the powder needed in the process. In this process, a screening machine is necessary to ensure the right output size, distribution, and flow properties of the ground material.

Dosing System

The material is fed into the pulverizer by a vibrating dosing channel, and the feeding rate is automatically adjusted based on the motor’s amperage and material temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Plastics Pulverizer Granulators and how do they work?

Plastics Pulverizer Granulators for Fine Powder Grinding are high-speed precision machines designed to process medium-hard and impact-resistant materials into fine powder. In Virtus Equipment’s PM-Series, the material is fed between two grinding discs — one stationary and one rotating — where centrifugal force ensures efficient pulverization. The resulting powder is then collected via a blower and cyclone system.

Virtus Equipment’s PVC Pulverizer Granulators are ideal for processing PVC pipes, profiles, PE, and other thermoplastics. They can handle both post-industrial and post-consumer waste, turning rigid plastic materials into uniform, high-quality powder for reuse in extrusion or rotomolding applications.

Yes. Virtus Equipment’s pulverizers are designed to work seamlessly with shredders and granulators to form a complete recycling system. This integration allows efficient material size reduction — from shredding to granulation to fine powder pulverization — creating a balanced and cost-effective recycling process.

Industries such as plastic extrusion, rotomolding, PVC pipe manufacturing, and recycling operations greatly benefit from Virtus Equipment’s pulverizers. These systems are ideal for reclaiming production waste, producing rotomolding powders, and preparing material for high-precision plastic extrusion processes.
